RM Partners has developed a research function to help ensure that patients have access to the best, most innovative treatments available, and to help reduce patient variation in access to clinical trials.
Our current research strategy focuses on areas of unmet need as recommended in the report by the Independent Cancer Taskforce, including early diagnosis, reducing variations in outcomes, better care for people living with and beyond cancer, cancer in older people and end of life and palliative care. We are working with one of our Cancer Vanguard partners, UCLH Cancer Collaborative, and with the South East London Accountable Cancer Network to provide a pan-London research function.
A Research Board has been established that comprises senior figures from research, funding bodies and key stakeholders such as the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), four London-based biomedical research centres (BRCs), Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, who provide advice on collaborative research across London.
There is also a London oncology clinical trials database which includes information in PDF format on all trials and studies that are recruiting patients in hospitals across London.
